DSC_5658-Edit It was especially nice to do this shoot with Ryan and Ian of Montreal Band, The Diamond Roads. When I began developing my photography skills (which you can read about here)  I started out using strobe studio lighting. I invested in a backdrop stand, backdrops, studio lights, barn doors, soft boxes, umbrellas and reflectors and I learned everything I could about lighting subjects. Well, the month of May was dedicated to re-learning lighting in a natural light setting. I tell you, the learning never stops! Bouncing light, diffusing light, catching the light at the right time... funny how the word 'natural' conveys a sense of ease... funny. So, when Ryan contacted me about a potential band shoot for her and Ian, she requested studio-lit shots. Just like riding a bike, I brought all my previous learning (and gear!) into practice... and it felt great! These are just a few of the looks we got... you will have to wait for the official release of the other images from the duo themselves!

I couldn't completely ignore the gorgeous natural light I was blessed with in this studio so, I snuck in a few shots... I just love the way the light wraps around these two lookers!
